Tattoos at Visual Visionary Ink start at a $100 shop minimum, and final pricing depends on the artist, size, detail and placement. A $50 to $100 non-refundable deposit secures your appointment. Walk-ins are welcome, consultations are preferred, and most tattoos take about four weeks to heal.
Pricing and deposits
How much does a tattoo cost at Visual Visionary Ink?
The shop minimum is $100. Prices vary by artist, as each may have a different minimum. The final cost depends on design size, level of detail, placement on the body, and the artist you choose.
How can I get a quote?
Submit the tattoo request form with reference photos and we will contact you with a quote. Give detailed information about your concept, placement and size for the most accurate estimate.
Is a deposit required to book a tattoo appointment?
Yes, a deposit is required for all appointments, usually $50 to $100, and some artists may require more for large or complex pieces. Deposits are non-refundable, secure your date and go toward the final cost. For multi-session tattoos the deposit pays for the last session. Your deposit is forfeited if you cancel or reschedule, reschedule more than once, do not show, are 15+ minutes late without notice, or change the tattoo concept on arrival.

How do I book an appointment?
Call (201) 354-9402 or complete the tattoo request form on the Book page. Our booking manager schedules you after reviewing the form, and a $50 to $100 deposit (sometimes more) secures the appointment.
Do you accept walk-ins?
Yes, walk-ins are always welcome. We will help you pick the ideal artist for your design style.
Is a consultation required before scheduling?
Our artists prefer a consultation first. It lets you discuss design, size, placement and details so you and the artist are on the same page.
Your tattoo
Can I bring my own design, or do you create custom designs?
Both. Share your ideas and reference photos in your consultation, and our artists can create a completely custom design.
Can you cover up an existing tattoo?
Yes, our artists excel at cover-ups and corrections, even challenging ones. If a tattoo cannot be effectively covered, we tell you before booking and explore alternatives.
Can you tattoo over a scar?
Often yes, though it is more challenging. Scar tissue can be uneven and may not hold ink as well. Consult one of our artists, and check with your doctor that the scar is fully healed.
Do you have age restrictions?
You must be 18 without parental consent. Ages 16 to 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who signs a consent form.
Do tattoos hurt?
Some discomfort is normal. Pain varies with your tolerance and the placement.
Healing and care
How should I prepare for my tattoo?
Stay hydrated, rest and eat a meal beforehand. Avoid alcohol and drugs, wear comfortable clothing that gives access to the area, communicate clearly with your artist, bring reference materials, ID and payment, and read the aftercare instructions.
What is the average healing time?
About four (4) weeks. Healing time varies with size, placement and your skin.
